Erasmus+ international co-operation project "Big Issues In Small Hands" is a project with the key belief that future starts today, and that our students will soon have to face the various challenges in everyday life. The project make them realize that they can actively participate in the life of school and local community, and that their initiative matters. At school age the core of the students´ interests are school, sport, arts and crafts and computers. Thanks to this project they will understand how these can be used as effective tools when dealing with global issues such as politics, profession, business, charity, interests and free time.
The partnership of the project consists of six elementary and secondary schools. Some schools are small and located in small villages, other are situated in big cities. The coordinating Czech school is the Regional Consulting Centre for School Parliaments. The Greek school promotes healthy diet and local products. Tartu International School in Estonia values co-operation and parental involvement and multicultural awareness. The Polish school’s objectives foster students talents and potentials. The French support charity and work for Burkina Faso. The students of Kumport Secondary School in Istanbul achieve numerous success in national sport competitions.

Planning for the project
The project was initiated by our Czech partners. They got in contact and invited TIS to be part of the project through a eTwinning platform, which is a network for European schools and teachers. TIS participated actively in planning the activities and preparing the application for Erasmus+ funding. In early autumn of 2014 we were happy to hear that the project got funding and our activities can start!
